Text Features A collection of some 127 rules of interpretation (paribhāṣā) of the Pāṇinian system of grammar. In the beginning portion of the text, the paribhāṣā-s (sometimes introduced by some sūtra of Pāṇini’s) are listed in the sequence of Nīlakaṇṭha Dīkṣita’s Paribhāṣāvṛtti, whereas the sequence of the final portion is rather similar to that of Śīradeva’s Bṛhatparibhāṣāvṛtti and Haribhāskara’s Paribhāṣābhāskara (cf. A 554/9).

Manuscript Features

There are a few interlinear corrections.

In the back of fol. 1 (exp. 2), the word “nandikeśara(!)pustakam” is inscribed in modern Devanāgarī characters, which might either hint as to the author of this list of paribhāṣā-s or the owner of the manuscript.

Above the foliation in the left-hand margin, the word paribhāṣā is written on each verso. In the bottom of the right-hand margin, the word rāmaḥ is written above the foliation on each folio.

The individual paribhāṣā-s are numbered from 1 to [1]27, that is, after number 100 the scribe starts again numbering from 1, 2 and so on.
